My name is Prajakta Ajgaonkar. After spending a few years as an employed architect, and then a freelancer, I decided to turn my idea of creating natural skincare products into a business!
My Story
I started this business after my mother-in-law and a few others liked the skincare products i made as gifts. With the support of my brother, Kshitij Ugrankar, I grew the Shikleli Bayko to a catalogue of various products with many different fragrances
In plain Marathi, it means ‘An Educated Wife’.
An educated and ambitious woman who wants to establish herself simultaneously as a successful entrepreneur, a good wife, a responsible daughter, an affectionate daughter-in-law and now a loving mother of two adorable boys, also gave birth to “Shikleli Bāyko” in the United States in the year 2009.
Prajakta Ajgaonkar, an architect and a computer graphics professional, wanted to surprise her mother-in-law with a unique gift on her 60th birthday.
She made a wonderful bouquet of handcrafted Artisan Soaps, Body Lotions, Lip Balms and Scrubs, all by herself, in her own kitchen, and gifted it to her mother-in-law and after that there was no looking back.

In March 2014, Prajakta’s brother, Kshitij who left his job as a software professional, joined her enterprise and now this brother sister duo is all geared up to make it a success in the Indian market with their wide range of Body Care Products designed to suit the Indian climes.
